For a 6ft fence most people use 2.4m (8ft) posts with 600mm in the ground. Use 100 × 100 for exposed gardens and 150 × 150 either side of a gate.

The best way in
- Turn in by Rosen and the Breedon Concrete plant.
- From Wideopen or the A1 (Gosforth Park / North Brunton junction): get onto Sandy Lane and head towards the airport and equestrian centre. Don't turn in at the Newcastle Recycling Centre end: it's busy with recycling traffic and people get lost. Keep going along Sandy Lane to the Breedon Concrete entrance.
- From Dinnington (airport behind you, heading towards Wideopen): turn in at the Breedon Concrete entrance. Don't carry on to the Recycling Centre end.
- Follow the road round the bend. As soon as the first bend starts to straighten, we're straight down the lane on your left. Look for our signs on the main road through the estate.
Look for the very tall green Tarmac plant. We're right next to it.

What length post for a 6ft fence?
A 2.4m (8ft) post: 1.8m above ground and 600mm set in concrete.
How far apart should fence posts be?
Every 1.8m for close-board fencing, which keeps each bay strong and suits 3.6m rails.
How much post mix do I need?
Two 20kg bags of rapid-set per post is a good rule. The counter above adds them for you.
Do you sell gate posts?
Yes, 2400 × 150 × 150mm gate posts at £35.00.
Can I collect today?
Usually, if you pre-order online or by phone and we confirm it's in stock and ready. Collection is Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4pm. Please wait for our message that your order is ready. Walk-ins are welcome, but without a pre-order we can't promise stock will be there. Tap Google Maps or Apple Maps under "Get our exact location" for our exact pin. The postcode alone takes sat navs to the wrong place.
